Job Summary

Our client, an Insurance Company is looking for an entry level accountant to join their team. This job is onsite in Sussex County, with flexible work hours, with great compensation/benefits.

The entry level Accountant will be responsible for general accounting duties. They will also assist in various accounting procedures to help the team in reporting and regulatory compliance.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

• Organizes records of deposits

• Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions from lock box and local deposits.

• Printing of checks and preparation of transactions for entry in General Ledger

• Maintains records by imaging of documents

• Interacts with stakeholders to resolve outstanding issues

• performs account reconciliations

• Stays updated on industry and legislative changes

• Reports to the Comptroller and Chief Financial Officer

• Works closely with other accountants, as well as with other areas of the organization

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree (Accounting or related field)

• 0-2 years of prior accounting experience

• Knowledge of financial software helpful (FIS/EAS preferred)

• Ability to process numerical data

• Ability to research, assemble and communicate findings to others requesting analytical information

• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Time management skills to meet all deadlines

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• High degree of integrity
