Located in the Fresno, California area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. To succeed in this role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. To succeed in this role, you will need to be comfortable participating in compliance, interacting with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. You might be our ideal candidate, if you have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

What you get to do every day

• Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives

• Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions

• Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

• Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting

• Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

• Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

• In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

• Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner

• Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

• Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting

• Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision

• Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

• Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

Requirements - Competent with spreadsheets and databases

• Analyze Financial Statements experience

• GAAP Accounting experience preferred

• Comprehensive knowledge of grant accounting

• Detailed and have the ability work independently

• Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

• Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills

• 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

• Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

• Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

• Efficient in ERP systems

• Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
