Staff Accountant

Description We are offering a contract to hire opportunity for a Staff Accountant in our communications industry office located in Jersey City, New Jersey. The primary role of the Staff Accountant will be to assist in the reconciliation phase, manage reconciliation reports, and overlook reporting in the general ledger.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the reconciliation phase and manage reconciliation reports

• Oversee reporting in the general ledger

• Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)

• Perform bank reconciliations

• Prepare and post journal entries

• Assist in month-end close procedures

• Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Perform account reconciliations and rectify discrepancies

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate actions to collect delinquent payments

• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently

• Maintain accurate customer credit records. Requirements - Minimum of two years of experience in an accounting role

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Knowledge of General Ledger practices

• Ability to prepare and analyze Journal Entries

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP software

• Experience in Account Reconciliation

• Must have a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

• Experience in the Communications industry is a plus.
