Staff Accountant

Description Cindy Bradley at Robert Half is actively recruiting for this GLOBAL Services/Testing client with Regional HeadQuarters here in WEST Houston. In this role, you will be responsible for providing financial information and reports to the organization by preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and assisting with monthly and year-end closings. You will also play a key role in maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.

Responsibilities - Prepare journal entries to complete general ledger operations - Assist in monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings, and preparation of monthly financial statements - Prepare analysis of accounts as requested - Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts, coordinating control sheet of balance sheet reconciliation progress and next steps - Resolve bank issues including fee anomalies and check differences - Assist with preparation for and coordination of the audit process - Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures - Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading detail oriented publications, and staying abreast of authoritative updates and pronouncements - Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed - Participate in other accounting and finance related special projects as directed by superiors

Skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, General Ledger, PeopleSoft, Cognos, and Lawson - Experience in Account Reconciliation - Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal written and presentation formats - Must possess the fundamental technical and administrative skills required to perform the job duties - Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines - Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload - Must be customer focused and quality driven. Hybrid work schedule with 4/1 - very flexible. Immediate interviews! Requirements - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Must be familiar with General Ledger procedures

• Experience with PeopleSoft is a necessity

• Knowledge of Cognos software is desirable

• Proficiency in using Lawson is required

• Must possess skills in Account Reconciliation

• A degree in accounting or related field is preferred

• Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential

• Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask efficiently

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high volume, fast-paced environment

• Prior experience in a similar role is a plus

• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are needed

• Ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations

• Understanding of complex financial reports and documentation

• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work effectively.
