The ideal candidate for this position can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will be preferred for this role if you have a public accounting experience, complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

What you get to do every day

• Tax processing for multitude of clients

• Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

• Perform the month end close and produce journal entries

• Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable

• Take part in various department-wide initiatives

• Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

• Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions

• In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

• Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

• Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

• Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

• Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

• Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Requirements

• Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

• Skilled with ERP systems

• 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

• Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

• Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Spreadsheet and database capabilities

• Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

• Knowledge of Income Tax Return

• Well-founded grasp of Lacerte Tax Software

• Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• General familiarity with Ultra Tax

• Proven knowledge of corporate taxes

• Federal Tax Return experience

• Individual Tax Return experience

• Financial statement preparation experience

• Experience with Partnership Tax

• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent attention to detail

• Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• CPA licensed or desire to obtain a CPA license preferred
