Responsibilities

Assists the surgeon during operative procedures by providing appropriate and adequate sterile instrumentation and other supplies. Maintains the surgical field through aseptic practices. Ensures the operating suite is adequately prepared for the procedure. Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse as a member of the peri-operative team. Monitors the PAR level of surgical instruments and supplies. Actively participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Surgical Technician program graduate. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Willingness to accept new ideas and work under stressful conditions. Basic computer knowledge.AST membership, preferred. Surgical Technologist Certification, preferred.Current BLS Certification.

Schedule Details

Monday - Friday, 8-hour rotating shifts. Primarily 7:00 am - 3:30 pm and 10:00 am - 6:30 pm. May need to rotate to 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm with the occasional night shift.

Weekend Schedule

On call rotation with weeknights, weekends, and holidays responsibilities. Occasional in-house shifts on weekends and holidays.
