Position Overview

Shaw is engaging on a continuous modernization journey that includes further embracing cloud technologies, including IaaS and PaaS. This position will help build and maintain our on-premise and cloud platforms, including deployment, instrumentation, automation, and decommissioning. This includes on-premises solutions, localized Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI), and distributed cloud solutions. This position will participate regularly in business-oriented and technical projects, task forces, and status meetings, and become involved in business strategy discussions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and optimize Shaw's on-premise and cloud environments, including Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) and distributed cloud solutions.

• Collaborate with teams to support CX & AX infrastructure, develop proactive designs, and execute performance analysis plans.

• Provide architecture recommendations and problem-resolution assistance to development teams.

• Support resiliency efforts through ongoing operational readiness and troubleshooting.

• Manage incident identification, resolution, and strategies for existing and emerging technologies.

Essential Duties:

• Lead technical projects and participate in business-oriented and technical discussions.

• Install, configure, deploy, and maintain infrastructure components in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).

• Installing, configuring, maintaining VMware infrastructure

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and document management approval for production environment changes.

• Collaborate with IT teams on changes, requests, and incidents.

• Communicate regularly on project status and contribute to problem-solving and decision-making processes.

• Automate tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash.

• Installing, configuring, maintaining VMware infrastructure

Must have Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in system administration, engineering, or database administration.

• Proficiency in global networking, ITIL procedures, scripting, and system administration.

• Experience with cloud architectures, database systems, and storage area networks.

• Knowledge of programming languages, operating systems, and Microsoft technologies which includes VMWare, Cloud platform (Azure , AWS) Microsoft OS, and Linux.

• Familiarity with cloud-native microservice patterns, infrastructure as code, and data center procedures.

• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to manage competing demands, and adapt to change.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Passion for automation, security, and continuous learning.

• Experience with Azure Sentinel, infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, and software design patterns.

• Ability to analyze problems and requirements at all levels and communicate effectively.

• Demonstrated leadership competencies such as influencing others, innovating, and building trusting relationships.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.

Working Conditions:

• Remote work available with occasional onsite presence in Dalton, GA.

• Occasional travel to manufacturing and distribution sites.

• On-call rotation and night/weekend work required for implementations or major incident support.

Equipment and Tools:

• Utilize Azure, AWS, GitHub, Terraform, and Microsoft 365 cloud tools.

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
