    Responsibilities

    The Architect will own the end-to-end technical architecture design for Ascension's Master Data Management solutions. The role will execute the vision for establishing Ascension's Master Data Management platforms as the authoritative source for identity and key attributes about our core business entities. The Architect will establish repeatable integration patterns, tuning as needed for a variety of applications.

    This position is in the Enterprise Information Management team within Ascension Data Delivery & Governance. This individual will work as part of a matrixed Architecture team, and will collaborate with data engineering, data architects, Ascension's digital teams, as well as Application teams.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Designs, develops and oversees architectures, including complex systems and systems design activities.

    • Acts as the subject matter expert for the enterprise and serves as the data and architecture authority for MDM.

    • Proactively collaborates with business stakeholders to define highly complex technology-based business solutions. Provides thought leadership regarding system design, architecture, and integration. Mentors and leads project teams in the appropriate use of technology.

    • Collaborates with vendors on technical roadmap and platform strategy

    • Oversees all applicable information technology architecture principles, standards and guidelines in the data, integration, application, infrastructure, solutions, security and technology domains. Reviews and approves high risk design decisions prior to implementation.

    • Leads design activities or reviews system designs to ensure that application solutions will exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, appropriate re-usability and reliability upon deployment.

    • Proactively identifies opportunities to optimize solution design and integration patterns.

    • Participates as an active member of one or more scrum teams.

    • Works with Data Solution Architects and Application Architects to design integrations with Master Data consumers.

    • Analyzes technical needs, requirements, and state of infrastructure design -- including business continuity (disaster recovery (DR) and high availability (HA) strategies), systems & data integration, and operations with the architecture team.

    • Plays an important role in ensuring data quality that supports data governance & standards for the organization through the utilization of Ascension's core Data Governance Platforms: Collibra, Symedical, Informatica Data Quality

    • Designs, develops and oversees system architectures surrounding Ascension's Data Governance Platforms

    • Works with Data Architects to design integration patterns with Data Management platforms.

    SKILLS:

    • Ability to analyze and define complex processes and sub-processes

    • Ability to study data sources and data models to effectively develop solutions

    • Experience with a Master Data Management or Enterprise Master Patient Index platform is strongly preferred

    • Preferred software experience

    • Other MDM software/platforms

    • Informatica IDQ or other data quality platform

    • Integration engines such as InterSystems Health Connect, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf

    • Google cloud Knowledge, and cloud migration

    • Communicate effectively with diverse people at various organization levels with right level of detail and cultural sensitivity

    • Flexible and open to new ideas with the ability to understand things from corporate, regional and local perspective while maintaining customer focus.

    • Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment; self-motivated to work in an independent and collaborative mode.

    • Ability to build strong relationships with peers and leaders by building trust and credibility; strong collaboration skills. Active listening skills to understand business needs and steer business team to take decisions that have enterprise-wide impact.

    Requirements

    Education

    • High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

    • 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

    Additional Preferences

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics or other related major is preferred

    • Experience working with a Master data Management or EMPI system is preferred

    • Experience with centralized and coexistence MDM implementations is preferred

    • Experience working in a healthcare environment is strongly preferred

    • Experience with graph databases is desirable

    • Previous healthcare systems knowledge is preferred, both in the inpatient and ambulatory settings
