    Work Schedule: M, W, F 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM AND Tues, Thurs 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM

    Summary:

    The technical security coordinator is responsible for all of the Security Services electronic security systems. Under the general supervision of the Director of Support Services, the technical security coordinator monitors functionality, programs, orders repairs and maintenance of all electronic security components which consist of CCTV, intrusion alarms, access systems, recording devices, report writing, emergency mass communications systems and associated processing units. The technical security coordinator is also responsible for the training of security officers that are assigned to the Security Communication's room. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

    Responsibilities:

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Maintains familiarity with the performance capabilities and limitations of all Medical Center security systems.

    2. Programs systems databases when appropriate.

    3. Works with Medical Center Engineering and Information Systems departments; oversees the reliability of the systems and systems point, coordinates/orders the

    prompt repair, documents repair history and makes certain that problem areas of the system are restored.

    1. Maintains all records, discs and other means of data and information storage. Backs-up and retrieves all data as needed or scheduled.

    2. Administers parameters of access control system, creates access profiles and badges.

    3. Trains all designated Security personnel in the use and monitoring of all electronic security systems.

    4. Creates written procedures for security and access control systems.

    5. Conducts scheduled system tests, maintains system status reports and distributes custom reports to appropriate Rush departments

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    1. Education: Four year degree preferred although education may be waived for individuals with above average technical/computer skills.

    2. Technical Skills: Must be capable of using department and system technology. Skills include using menus, creating pathways and backing up data.

    3. Interpersonal Skills: Capable of working with other departments.
