    Temporary Lead Environmental Construction Monitor

    POWER Engineers Inc. is seeking a full-time, temporary Project-specific Lead Environmental Construction Monitor for our Environmental Division - Western Biology Department working on-site in Nevada. The position seeks a detail-oriented candidate with a demonstrated ability to work independently and a successful history in biological survey efforts and environmental compliance monitoring.

    The position will be filled by a detail-oriented candidate, with a demonstrated ability to work independently, reporting directly to the Construction Monitor Manager. The candidate must have experience in supervising and completing biological field surveys. Effective communication and organization skills are important for success in this role.

    Roles and responsibilities

    • Support and help build the environmental project team for a transmission line project in Nevada

    • Focus on environmental compliance in both field and office settings

    • Report directly to the Construction Monitor Manager

    • Manage and organize NEPA and other environmental permit requirements

    • Ensure construction team compliance with environmental requirements

    • Collaborate with the construction team to plan and schedule monitors weekly and daily as needed

    • Organize monitors, surveys, permits, and environmental compliance reporting

    • Schedule, onboard, and direct environmental monitors on the project

    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting and data collection

    • Oversee Monitor Field Leads and Monitors, review daily reports, and address environmental compliance issues

    • Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly project meetings

    Required Education/Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Wildlife Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related field. Or in place of a degree a minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental consulting in the Mojave Desert and Nevada

    • Experience in supervising and completing biological field surveys

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Attention to detail and commitment to quality and professionalism

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills

    • Substantial construction monitoring experience in Nevada

    • Experience with federal and state land management/resource agencies

    • Ability to work in remote conditions and independently

    • Experience in leadership positions preferred
