    Boeing Test and Evaluation is seeking a Test Bed Operations Flight Test Engineer based in Berkeley, MO , in support of the Test Bed Operations team and related test activities.

    The Test Bed Operations organization is focused on modifying, certifying, and operating experimental aircraft to be used as flying laboratories in order to acquire engineering research data for Boeing program customers. The FTE role is responsible for leading the technical aspects of planning and executing ground and flight test related activities primarily related to the development of sensor systems. The role requires significant coordination with internal and external customers, suppliers, and cross-functional team members.

    Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate, Mid-Level, and Senior level Test Bed Operations Flight Test Engineers.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Plan and coordinate flight test mission requirements with responsible engineers from internal and external customers, to include collecting and defining test requirements, data requirements, instrumentation system definition/installation, test assets and spares, aircraft modification and de-modifications requirements and timelines, FAA certification requirements, etc

    • Plan, coordinate, and maintain the configuration of test assets

    • Develop flight test and mission profiles, author and publish test plans, create flight test cards, and manage test schedules for multiple programs and platforms

    • Identify and coordinate the availability of test ranges and facilities with company and government agencies

    • Establish test planning working groups, plan and conduct flight test readiness reviews, and conduct pre and post-flight test briefings

    • Conduct ground and flight tests in accordance with established test plans and procedures

    • Prepare and publish test summaries and test reports

    • Report test program status to BT&E management

    • Prioritize personnel and system safety in the planning and execution of test objectives

    This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

    This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

    • Experience with flight test, flight operations, or system test

    • Ability to communicate technical information

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    • 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    • Experience with requirements elicitation and refinement

    • Experience in an engineering lead role

    • Experience with aircraft modifications, upgrades, or retrofit projects

    • Experience in Aircraft Maintenance and Aircraft Operations

    • Hold a pilot license or pilot experience

    Typical Education/Experience:

    Associate (level 2)

    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).

    In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    Mid-Level (level 3)

    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).

    In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    Senior (level 4)

    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).

    In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    Summary pay range for associate level: $79,900-$108,100

    Summary pay range for mid-level: $95,200-$128,800

    Summary pay range for senior level: $113,900-$154,100
