    As a pivotal member of our team, your role of Project Manager can entail driving toll projects through their lifecycle with an unwavering commitment to HNTB's 4for4 performance standards: consistently delivering high quality work, on time, within budget, and exceeding client expectations. In this role, you'll manage project teams for strategic projects (<$1M) and may even take the lead or function as a discipline lead on mini-mega projects ($1M to <$5M).

    Beyond project management, you'll embody the role of Stakeholder Owner, seamlessly collaborating with internal and external partners across various disciplines and functional teams. Your ability to foster meaningful connections and streamline communication will be instrumental in achieving project success.

    What You'll Do:

    • Performs technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specification and plan preparation to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.

    • Actively manages project scope, schedule and budget. Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets and scope of work to completion and to the client's satisfaction.

    • Implements the firm's project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project.

    • Develops project scope and fee quotation, and assists in the preparation of proposals and contracts.

    • Coordinates work efforts and reviews of work performed by project team. Supervises and mentors team to overall project objectives.

    • Oversees project staffing with departments, offices and divisions.

    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    What You'll Need:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant degree

    • 8 years relevant experience

    • In lieu of education, 12 years relevant experience

    What You'll Do:

    • Serve as the primary client liaison, managing the project team to bring scopes, schedules, and budgets to completion, surpassing client expectations. Be the guiding force in client project scoping and contract negotiations.

    • Lead the charge in guiding and mentoring the team towards overarching project objectives. Be the architect of a team that not only meets but exceeds expectations and thrives under your leadership, from recruitment to retention and succession planning.

    • Partner with client service leaders, client delivery teams, and marketing teams to discover what our clients value, pursue new opportunities, and contribute to the growth of our portfolio.

    • Expertly manage, monitor, and deliver smaller projects or task orders, including managing small teams of direct reports, managing subconsultants on the HNTB team, and/or overseeing client-contracted vendors.

    • Build and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders to create seamless and productive collaboration that drives results.

    • Channel your tech-savvy prowess and express lanes knowledge to support analysis, reporting, design, and implementation services.

    What We Prefer:

    • Master's degree in Engineering

    • 10 years relevant experience

    • Professional Engineer (PE) certification

    • Project Management Professional (PMP)

    The approximate pay range for California is $100,502.72 - $178,632.44. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual's qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
