    Job Summary:

    The Enterprise Vault Systems Engineer supports the Veritas Enterprise Vault and Discovery Accelerator platforms, performing Engineer/Administrator services in support of and operations and maintenance of these platforms. The Enterprise Vault Systems Engineer must ensure high availability and routine operation and maintenance of these systems, including training, weekly/ monthly maintenance, and incident response. These systems are deployed on physical and virtualized Windows Servers, have geographically separated data centers for Continuity of Operations, massive amount of attached storage and therefore requires a wide range of support tasks.

    Responsibilities

    Job Responsibilities:

    Responsible for the overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support. Designs, implements, installs, maintains, and administers infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations. Monitors overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune appropriately. Performs root cause analysis on failed components and implements corrective measures. Works with others to establish and improve processes and procedures. Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Typically requires BA and 2-4 years.

    • Shall participate in teleconferences or technical meetings to review, educate, and support program objectives

    • Shall perform configurations, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting using current engineering documentation

    • Shall record configurations change requests through the established change control board

    • Shall process storage requests, migrations and decommission tasks

    • Shall monitor failed system components and coordinate logistics, vendor support, and site support as needed

    • Shall respond to monitoring alerts and warnings with prompt corrective actions and escalations

    • Shall complete all scheduled maintenance in accordance with established policies and procedures

    • Shall prevent data loss or storage system outages by exercising a high level of attention to detail during maintenance

    • Shall manage technology in remote environments

    • Shall review and process tickets related to supported system according to the established service level agreements tracked within the service manager database

    • Shall provide initial response, Level 1 and Level 2 escalation for outages

    • Shall schedule maintenance actions in a timely manner

    • Shall create Power Shell and VBS scripts as needed to automate routine maintenance tasks

    • Shall perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, and systems

    • Shall review system and application logs to verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups

    • Shall apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis; upgrade administrative tools and utilities; upgrade end user applications

    • Shall configure / add new services as necessary

    • Shall research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks

    • Shall prepare and review technical assessments to include required tasks, estimated time frames, and effort for any scope project

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Active Clearance: Top Secret with SSBI and ability to obtain SCI clearance

    • Possess at least 3 years of Enterprise Vault Experience

    • System administration knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2010 and 2013

    • Experience administrating and supporting Microsoft Windows server 2008/2012 in a large physical and virtual infrastructure

    • Full understanding of DNS, WINS, DHCP, and LDAP compliant directories

    • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure and network archi

    • Experience with VMware virtualization administration and tools, Vsphere console, and a firm understanding of virtualized infrastructure concepts

    • Disaster recovery and ancillary messaging components

    • In-depth knowledge of email archival systems messaging systems, system administration and architecture expertise

    • Ability to work independently with high level of initiative and excellent troubleshooting skills; as well as work in a team environment

    • Must possess excellent communication skills to present/train technical concepts to a large audience

    • Before and/or after core hours work may be required

    • At least 4 years of Systems Engineer/Administrator experience

    • At least 2 years of previous experience in architect and design of complex high- available systems

    • Experience researching and resolving customer product support complaints and issues
