     Veterinary Emergency + Referral Center of Hawaii (VERC) is an advanced 24-hour veterinary emergency and specialty hospital. Our dedicated board-certified specialists and highly-trained emergency professionals provide a collaborative approach to veterinary medicine. Supported by our modern, state-of-the-art facility, we offer a full in-house laboratory, ultrasound, CT, MRI and electrochemotherapy.

    At VERC, our mission is to provide the highest standard of emergency and specialty medicine, offering the most comprehensive and progressive patient care on the Hawaiian Islands.

    About the Job:

    As a Veterinary Assistant you will be responsible for:

    • Triaging incoming patients and managing clients throughout their visit.

    • Partnering and assisting Veterinary Technicians in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.

    • Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates. 

    • Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment.

    • Surgical assistance for minor (non-specialty) procedures.

    • Passion for providing the highest quality patient care.

    • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, with the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected.

    • Compassionate, empathetic, dedicated, professional and reliable.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Veterinary Assistant is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided.

    • Recent graduates with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology are encouraged to apply.

    • Proven track record of reliable employment.

    • This is an entry level position with the opportunity for growth and professional development in the Veterinary field.
