Role Profile
Position: VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) Specialist
Job Location: Savannah
Job Type: Full-Time
Status: Non-Exempt
Summary of the Role
The position will be responsible for the timely and customer-oriented delivery of products. Additionally, this position will be responsible for maintaining and growing appropriate inventory at multiple designated customer sites and providing outstanding customer service. Reporting to the Branch Operations Manager, this position will also help customers understand how ERIKS can provide solutions to their business needs.
Responsibilities
Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures, both at ERIKS and customer facilities.
Ensure product stocking levels by scanning for ordering purposes to help maintain accurate inventory levels
Make deliveries of products from the local branch to the customer locations using either a company van or a box truck
Stock purchased product in designated customer locations
Resolve customer problems promptly to retain and promote customer loyalty
Help create new orders by engaging with customers to identify additional product needs
Identify continuous improvement opportunities in productivity, process, and cycle time
Probe for customer needs during each site visit and works with sales partners to expand ERIK's offerings
Implement scanning tools in designated customer sites, where needed
Spend majority of time servicing customers in the field at customer sites as well as making deliveries
When not out delivering or performing VMI, work in the warehouse performing other related duties as required

Ability to communicate effectively with the customer, customer service reps and account reps in a professional manner, both oral and written
Must be able to work independently
Basic computer skills are a must
Applicants should possess the ability to interact with customers, and team-members in a professional manner
Requires a proficiency in math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in units of measure. Additionally, must be able to perform calculations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
Basic mechanical skills including the use of hand tools.
The ability to pull, push, grasp, bend, lift and carry up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record
High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience
Reliable transportation is a must
Must be able to work independently
The ability to safely drive a Company truck
The ability to interact professionally with all employees and customers
Ability to see in color
Ability to work overtime, as required
Ability to pull, push, grasp, bend, lift and carry up to 50 lbs independently on a repeated basis
Ability to consistently move throughout facility and customers during the full workday
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Must have a mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn about how our products are produced on equipment
Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory software and to create packing list
Basic math skills
Properly measure with a tape measure
Background checks, drug screening may be required (as warranted by Company, Customer or DOT requirements in working on-site and operating equipment)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in an industrial setting
1-2 years of warehousing or production experience in an industrial setting
Requires excellent verbal and written communications skills
Inventory control experience is preferred
Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance
Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills
Requires ability to organize and prioritize workload and be able to interact effectively with all types of people in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
