    Minnesota Housing is hiring! We're a mission-focused financial institution looking for a Writer/Editor. This position will help write and edit a variety of internal and external Agency communications, including website and intranet content, news releases, newsletters and more. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional grasp of composition and the English language. They will have experience delivering clear and concise content, editing and proofreading, and adhering to a style guide.

    Essential Job Duties

    • Write, edit and deliver internal and external content that meets Agency standards and addresses audience needs.

    • Identify target audiences, develop effective written materials and determine channels to deliver content.

    • Serve as Agency's plain language expert.

    • Deliver trainings to staff on plain language, writing style and related topics.

    • Help develop strategy for distributing communications materials.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies and produce engaging content.

    • Assist with management of email marketing tool.

    • Work with Communications Division to develop and execute communication plans.

    • Provide communications support for Agency priorities.

    • Review and ensure Agency publications meet plain language and accessibility standards.

    • Travel up to 10% of the time to press events, meetings, grand openings, conferences, etc.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below.     Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for this position.

    • Two (2) years of professional experience in developing written content for a business, nonprofit or government agency. A bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or English may substitute for 12 months of experience.

    • Excellent writing, editing and communication skills.

    • Ability to conceive, develop and deliver a desired message effectively and concisely.

    • Knowledge of basic website principles and best practices, as well as writing for the web.

    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects effectively within deadlines.

    • Exceptional interpersonal skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Familiarity with plain language principles.

    • Proficiency with a website content management system, such as Oracle.

    • Experience with document accessibility review.

    • General understanding of the affordable housing industry.
