Job Description:
An X-Ray Technician, also known as a Radiologic Technologist, plays a crucial role in the medical field by using imaging equipment to create detailed images of a patient’s internal structures. Responsibilities:
- Imaging Procedures: Interpret physician orders to determine which body parts require imaging.
- Explain imaging procedures to patients and position them correctly for the tests.
- Set the controls on X-ray equipment to prepare for imaging.
- Image Acquisition and Quality Assurance: Operate X-ray machines to capture images.
- Check X-ray images for clarity and retake them if necessary.
- Ensure proper cleaning and routine maintenance of X-ray equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of patient imaging.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other medical professionals, including radiologists and physicians.
- Send X-ray images to relevant healthcare providers for interpretation.
- Update patient records with pertinent information.
- Inventory Management: Inventory and stock films and radiologic supplies.
Qualifications:
- Strong Oral Communication Skills: Ability to provide clear instructions to patients during testing.
- Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills: Interpret physician orders accurately.
- Troubleshoot any issues with equipment.
- Attention to Detail: Set up equipment properly to ensure accurate imaging.

- Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) and medical records software.
- Knowledge of X-ray Safety Precautions and Infection Control: Prioritize patient safety during imaging procedures.
