Midday cash livestock markets

There’s a light direct cash cattle trade underway in parts of cattle country.  Dressed deals in Nebraska are marked at $226 to $227, $1 to $2 below last week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.  Live bids in the South are at $141.  Asking prices are firm at $143 to $144 live in the South and $228-plus dressed in the North.  Look for business to pick up over the balance of the week.  Boxed beef is lower at midday on light demand for moderate offerings.  Choice is $2.29 lower at $259.05...
