    Yosemite Pathology (YP) is a private independent pathologist owned and operated surgical pathology and cytology laboratory based in Modesto, CA. YP provides comprehensive state of the art, reliable, and accurate diagnostic services to its physicians and major area hospitals in the Alameda, Amador, Calaveras, Contra Costa, Kern, Mariposa, Merced, San Joaquin, Solano, Stanislaus and Tuolumne counties.   YP offers a full spectrum of tissue pathology, cytology and histology services, including examination of gynecologic specimens, body fluids and fine needle aspiration specimens. We also offer an extensive array of special stains and immunohistochemistry to assist in the management of oncologic and non-oncologic diseases. The laboratory is supported by highly qualified Histotechnologist, Cytotechnologist, Technicians and office staff who offer excellent service.  

    Summary/Objective The Flow Cytometry CLS is responsible for performing daily Flow Cytometry and Hematology test procedures on bone marrow and tissue specimens.  This position prepares specimens using a variety of procedures for antibody staining, acquisition, and analysis on a multi-color flow cytometer.  This position may also perform hematology functions such as performing CBC on peripheral blood specimens.  

    Essential Functions

    • Follows all Laboratory procedures pertaining to proper specimen handling and processing and maintains accurate and complete records of all testing performed in accordance with CAP and CLIA regulations.

    • Maintains documentation for QC and maintenance of all equipment in the Flow Cytometry Laboratory including cleaning and calibration of all instruments.

     • Maintains all supplies and monitors inventory in the Flow Cytometry Laboratory.

    • Prepares and maintains all solutions, reagents, and cocktails according to laboratory procedures.

    • Prepares all specimens for testing and monitors any specimen issues while following appropriate corrective action.

    • Processes specimens for flow cytometry, stains processed specimens using monoclonal antibodies, and acquires data on the flow cytometer.  

    Minimum Job Requirements

    • Licensed in the State of CA to perform high complexity testing (California CLS license.)

    • 1-3 years of equivalent experience (high complexity testing)

    Supervisory Responsibility This position oversees high complexity testing in Flow Cytometry.

    Compensation and Benefits:

    • The compensation range is $80,000 – $110,000 annually. Final salary offer subject to multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, geographic location of the role, and current market data.

    Work Environment This position operates in a laboratory environment and involves frequent standing and exposure to hazardous chemicals and biohazardous materials.
