  • JOB SUMMARY

    Occupational Therapist Independently evaluates the functional ability of patients through the administration, interpretation of standardized tests, clinical observation, and patient/family interview. Creates individualized treatment and educational plans and provides patient/family counseling and training. Develops and implements innovative and specific treatment plans to maximize the patient's functional potential or return to previous level of functioning, based on clinical findings. Consults with medical team and allied health professionals and documents all pertinent clinical findings to render a comprehensive, family-based or individual intervention plan. Proficiency in the care of patients with feeding and/or swallowing impairments is often needed.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Master's Degree

    Area of Study in a Field Related to the Position

    BLS for Health Providers (AHA)

    Ability and experience working independently, using critical thinking skills and processes to arrive at objective, strategic, results-oriented decisions within the context of patient care and department, division and organizational priorities.

    Valid California driver's license and auto insurance required, when applicable

    Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from an AOTA accredited program, if graduated prior to 2004

    Current California license in OT or eligible if new grad or licensed in another state.

    NBCOT: National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Doctorate Degree (non MD)

    5 Years of Experience

    Pediatric Experience

    Bilingual English/Spanish

    Board certification in advanced practice (SWC, HTC, PAM)

    Clinical experience with the care of patients with feeding and/or swallowing impairment

    The expected hiring range for this position is $43.57 to $59.91
